"This person is interested in us" and "this person is buying" are two different things. The first is traffic and business cards. The second is intent. Buyer intent means the purchase stage and the urgency a buyer reveals through words and behavior. Read the intent and your sales team knows which call to make first.
What they say. "Do you have certified suppliers of ALD process equipment for 12-inch wafers" carries a product, a specification and a qualification condition. "What do you have" carries none of that. The more specific the description of the need, the later the purchase stage usually is.
What they do. Which product pages they read, who they saved, how many comparable suppliers they compared, whether they sent an inquiry or booked a meeting. A single action says little. A run of actions is a trail.
Every grade carries the reason behind the judgment, so the sales rep can check it: "this buyer viewed your high-pressure valve page three times in two days and sent one specification inquiry". A grade without a reason is only a label, and sales will not trust it.
A buyer's search starts months before the show, the show days are the densest stretch, and there is a tail afterwards. The same buyer can sit at different grades at different moments. Grade 3 before the show, grade 2 during it, grade 1 when an inquiry arrives a week after. Reading intent along a timeline stays closer to the truth than reading one day's stack of business cards.
Follow up grade 1 first, with a reply inside forty-eight hours; grade 2 within a week; grade 3 goes onto the list for long-term cultivation. Open with a sentence that answers the question they already asked, in their language.
De-identify the intent of every buyer at the show and aggregate it by topic, and you have that show's demand map: which topics buyers ask about most, and how specifically they ask. It is the basis for exhibit sales and floor planning, and Demand-Supply Mapping covers the detail. A buyer's personal contact details are never handed to exhibitors. What exhibitors see is the content of the need and the evidence of behavior, the two sides communicate inside the platform, and buyers can switch off receiving at any time.
